A waterhose may save the world?

I have been hearing different theories on how to clean up our climate.  Buy an Eco-friendly vehicle or use mass transportation, use cloth bags instead of plastic, conserve water, buy organic, buy local, but the advice given by experts on 20/20 last night made my mind reel.  

Can the Global warming issue be solved with a water hose?  Can replacing cows with kangaroos somehow reduce greenhouse effects?  Science never ceases to amaze.
