Esmeralda's pediatrician has been telling us for 2 months to get rid of the nighttime bottle because she doesn't need it and she's eating too much formula for being 8 months.  She eats about 24 oz. total, 8 oz. of that is at night. We never tried because she was 6 months when she first told us this, and I didn't want to take it away from her.

Well she had some constipation issues where she was almost taken to the ER to get the impact manually removed.  Her pediatrician said it was because of too much formula and too much starch and to really get rid of the nighttime bottle.

So because it has been affecting her digestive system, we listend.  We've been trying to give her a bottle of water at night, and it wasn't working even though she loves water from her sippy cup.  So we've been switching up the method before laying her down and giving her the bottle of water.  Nothing was working.

Well tonight I was away meeting with some ladies about a business opportunity and my husband was alone with her.  Before I left, I told him to try to feed her some yogurt, then give her a bath directly afterward, then lay her down with a bottle of water directly after that.

It looks like it worked!  I think the combination of being full and tired from her bath made her accept the bottle of water to sleep with! She even woke up once after I got home because of the noise, and my husband gave her the bottle of water back and she accepted it!

We're going to make this a bedtime routine so hopefully we've successfully taken her nighttime bottle away!
