Somer's funeral is tomorrow

Somer Thompson's funeral will be tomorrow at First Baptist Church of Orange Park,  we will be unable to attend , because we live in Texas.  Still we will take a moment of silence for the loss of a young life cut way too short.  I remember dd playing with her older sister,  I remember how sweet her mom was when they came to dd b-day party.  We had only lived there a month and she was soo nice to my daughter.  I also remember seeing Somer and her brother stand close to their mother in the busy skating rink as I chatted with their mother about how much harder 4th grade was than 3rd grade.  It makes me sad to think Somer won't ever get to go to 4th grade.  It makes me angry to hear people call  Mrs. Thompson a bad mother,  she is not a bad person because she had her kids walk home from school.  The area they walked is a safe area,  there are cross guards to help the kids on every block, a police officer sits at the baseball field across from the school.  We need to be angry at the person who took this child.  This could of happened even if she walked with her kids.  Kids run ahead of their parents all the time.  We can't prevent every tragedy, but we can push for stricter laws regarding sex offenders.
