THE BEGINNING.I didn't even know it either. I started getting sick Wednesday. I took a nap and woke up achy but still able to function somewhat except I ate some chips that gave me bad indigestion that made it hard to take care of my kids. When I woke up Thursday morning I had what looked and felt like pink eye. I felt like crap too but got the kids ready for school. My mom took me to get my phone fixed just in case something happened like I went into labor. I managed to take care of the kids til bed time by the grace of God. After going to bed I developed a fever which I think burned out the eye infection but I started to get a ear ache. It got bad on both so I took tylonal and it helped both. I woke up sweating. I got the kids ready for school and Dh's mom took them. I went back to bed. I had fed my two year old and he was watching PBS. I passed out bc my fever came back. I woke up at 12:30 and he was asleep beside me. The UPS person luckily chose that time to bring my new working phone. I was so tired and out of it I threw the box to the side and got back in bed. My MIL brought the kids home and stayed for an hour. I slept the whole time. When she left I tried calling my DH to make sure he was coming straight home after work but his phone was acting up. I called my mom bc I left my BIL phone number at her house. She offered to call DH and Shawn so I said sure. All I wanted to do was sleep. My almost 6 year old tried to help me but they are still just babies. My mom showed up bc she couldn't get my husband either. I passed out quickly. My fever never got passed a hundred. All I remember after my mom got there was sleeping. Sometime during the night my asthma started to flair up. I couldn't breathe for anything it felt like. On Saturday morning I didn't know if I should go to the ER. My Bil had our car bc his girlfriend got off work late friday night and DH didn't want to pick her up and drive her home then come home himself so he just let Shawn keep the car over night. Saturday I texted my sis and she offered to have her DH come take me to the ER. I didn't think I really needed to go that bad. She told me if I did when she got off at 1 she'd take me. By 10:30 I started to cramp. I tried calling my sis but she was at work and couldn't answer. Shawn called to say he was awake and would bring the car soon. I told him I needed to go to the ER. His soon can be 4 hrs. He made it by 11. He stayed with the kids and DH took me in( he was gripping about another weekend plans being ruined). He feels like an ass now! Any ways I get to the ER and they tell me to sit down(without even knowing anything) and they would get to me whenever. I sat down but I was in regular pain. The lady next to me asked if I signed in and I said no. She told me I'd better and that the ER nurse was probably taking to them bc her and her son where standing near the desk when I came in. I was very oxygen deprived by then and not really thinking straight. When I walked up all I was able to tell the admit nurse was I was 35 weeks pregnant and felt some cramping. She call L&D and up I went. I finally had a change to tell some of what was going up from the previous days. They put a mask on me bc I was coughing from not being able to breath right for sooo long. I got in a room and all the nurses wore mask in my room but I got to take mine off. They hooked me up to an IV and told me to let them now when I pee'd to see how hydrated I was. They also swobbed for both flu's. That really hurts ur nose cause they have to swobbed ur brain lol. Anyways here come the scary part I was negative for both flu's yay! REALLY SCARY PART.But my keytones were 4+ meaning I was mega dehydrated. My lungs were not getting enough oxygen to my body. I was hooked up to baby monitor and I was contracting every 4 minutes. They some what hurt. My body was trying to rid me of the baby but it needed all the fluids I could get. They gave me a steriod shot to help the babies lungs just incase I went into full preterm labor. That's all they could do because the contraction meds would hurt my respiratory problems that were really bad too. The nurses assured me if the baby came they have an excellent NICU and some of the best doctors. I told them do what they had too but if came down to baby or me save me bc I have 3 other small children to think of. That was harder to do than I ever thought it would be. The steriod shot must have relaxed everything bc the contractions stopped and the fluids started to help the dehydration slowly. I talked to a lung specialist and he agreed with my doctor on call I sound REALLY bad. I was put on oxygen, different steriod, antibiotics and potassium. After being released my doctor told DH it was a good thing I came in when I did bc me and the baby would have died. I was so close and had no idea. My lesson is go to the doctor the first chance you get. I should have went Friday. I now am suffering from swelling. It feels like my whole body. My belly button was like a swimming pool now it looks like the sides caved in lol. My legs are awful and I have cankles. The only good part of this is my breast are fuller. But the swelling is cause me all of problems. I have to wean off steriods(the ones they gave for me lungs) and apparently can cause swelling. Plus defiantly stay hydred. Its been tough but THANK GOD we are alive! Now if the swelling will go away so I can take care of my kids.
