It was brought to my attention that they now make a Snuggie For Dogs. Yes, you read that right. A Snuggie. For DOGS.
What the hell?
I heard about it in a text from a friend (Hi, Kristin!) and I thought she was kidding so I sent back, "Thinking of buying one of these, are we?"
She replied, "No, my dogs would pee on them."
"Yeah, mine would eat it."
These things are for real? *snicker* And people are buying them? Seriously?
Well, of course, like the Original, they would be perfect for keeping Mr. Fuzzers warm while he's reading a book, talking on the phone, attending sporting events or roasting marshmallows, but let's look a little deeper under the Snuggie.
Specifically, what's the pitch? What situations arise in which a dog might actually benefit from the use of a Snuggie perfectly outfitted for his needs?
You and your teeny shorthaired pooch got transferred to The Great White North? Perfect! He needs the Snuggie for Dogs so he can go out to make whizziwinkles on those I'm So Glad They Had Me Neutered days.
I know some owners might be worried about their ankle biter becoming the laughingstock of the dog park. Don't sweat it. Because they come in small, medium and large, little dogs won't have to be the only unfortunate beasts clothed in fuzzy fleece.
How's that for misery loving company, Fido?
I do wonder about the drawbacks, though. What kind of field testing went into the creation of these things? I know the Original Snuggie is a huge conductor of static electricity. I imagine that any funny business between two Snuggie-clad canines could create enough friction to cause them to combust.
I have to question how safe it is then, for a dog to be petted after he's fully charged in his Snuggie...
...and will he stick to the wall?
Comments:
*phone in hand* Hey! You forgot to post the 800 number! Come ON!
Kisby needs one...
Crap. I saw these at the pet store the other day and I was trying to pretend it was just my imagination. Now you've ruined that for me.
You know you already have one for your dog. You just posted this so that we would be thrown off the scent. ;)

"Petted," Riki??
I'd be really surprised if my parents haven't already bought one of these.
