There was a time where I did iron my jeans. I had no kids clothes to worry about, just my own. I went out all the time, I had time to get ready. I'd iron my top and my jeans. Not only did it look crisp, I liked feel of freshly ironed clothes. Now, I have to worry about DH's clothes and my children's clothes. I don't do a whole lot of ironing anymore. If I don't have to I don't see why I need to. Working in a warehouse now, I pretty much don't care if my jeans are just slightly wrinkled. I try to fold my jeans right away from the dryer and hang them so they dont need to be ironed and doesn't leave the lighter creases. Even if they are wrinkled a little bit, after a few hours the wrinkles fall out anyways.
I didn't get lazier, I just added more to my plate to take care of so shortcuts is a must.
