Years ago when my two oldest boys were 12 & 5 I took them to the local Walmart around holiday time.  There was a Marine standing outside with the Toys For Tots truck.  I had both of my sons pick out a toy that they really wanted most for Christmas.  They were absolutely delighted.  On our way out of the store, I had them give their newly purchased toy to the Marine for another child to get as a present.  Well, as it turns out, my oldest son has never forgotten that the greatest gift is the one you give to a stranger.  Some of you may know that his best friend died almost 2 weeks ago & he was a Marine.  Shortly after the funeral, my son, RT was at Walmart & saw the Marines there with the Toys For Tots.  He purchased two toys & proudly handed them over to the Marine.  When he told me this, I got tears in my eyes.  He said he did it in memory of his friend, Shawn.  I guess I really did raise him right after all.
