Right now, we have 2 cats...
And 2 kittens that we rescued...not from a shelter, but from bad situations...
PREVIOUSLY...
We had a cat, that died...she was born with health problems...we didn't know that, until after we agreed to take her when the landlord found her...
We also had adopted 1 Rottie from the pound...they held off on euthanizing him until we could get there...he was a great dog, but he passed away 5 years ago, on Halloween night, he somehow, got his runner un-hooked, and was hit on the road...
At the same time as the Rottie, we adopted, from the pound, 2 puppies who were born in the pound, their mother had already been euthanized, and they were both living together in this tiny cage...they were Shepherd puppies...we brought them home, and 1 1/2 years later, a friend of ours was so taken with them, that he begged until we agreed to let him take them home...TOGETHER! We were moving, but couldn't move until we found them a new home, because we just wouldn't have enough room for them to be happy...but, he had over 40 acres, so we still go see them on occasion, and they are soo happy, and so is their owner...
We have taken in 2 other dogs from various places, and kept them until they were healthy, and found new homes for them...
But, we take in more kittens that anything...
So far, we have placed 9 kittens and cats with new owners...most of them were abandoned and brought to us through family members...
So, yes, if I could take in another animal, I would...even from a pound, or shelter...
We took a VERY big chance, getting a full-grown male Rottie from a shelter, but he was the best dog we've ever had!
Sometimes you have to take that chance...

That's awesome! I foster cats sometimes too. I think it's so important for people to take chances on animals in shelters and foster situations.
