Update on my Mom

UPDATE on my Mommas! Alrighty I hope to get this done 1x. A big thank you to everyone who has sent love, prayers, and positive energy to my mom and family. If you could keep sending energy to help my mom heal swiftly that would be greatly appreciated. As you all know my mom has been in the hospital since Sunday. My mom contracted a very strong strain of strep that entered her body through the inguinal region. We are unsure how she came into contact of the strep bacteria or how it entered her system.. but it shut down her kidneys and liver thus pushing the infection to her lymph system which could not handle it and started seeping into her body. This strep infection started degrading her cells and tissue (thus being known in lamen terms as a flesh eating bacteria) My mom has undergone a few surgeries to not only drain the infection from her leg but also to remove the infected tissue in her entire right leg from her calf to inner thigh and abdomen. The tissue has been taken down to the muscle and includes some muscle removal. As of now the doctors believe they have all the bacteria/dead tissue removed. She will need to have the would scrubbed/debraved in a week.. adn after that probably several skin grafts to cover the gaping wound. My mom will recover. she is an amazing strong woman and is high in spirits. Although she will not be able to work for several months and will need a lot of therapy. Until then she has a few more weeks left in the hospital and is in the ccu until her kidneys jump back up to speed. Should be a few days now before she is out of isolation and in a normal room in the hospital. Love you all! please continue to keep us in your thoughts & prayers.

 

 

I will be visiting her Tuesday after my big 20 week ultrasound and I can't wait. I am just so glad that she is doing so much better.

Aww YAY!

We have been praying and I am so thankful she is feeling better!! Keep us updated!!
