There are so many things for kids to do in Toronto it is unbelievable. So far we have already been to a few of them.
We hooked up with my sisters family and went to the Black Creek Pioneer Village for their Howling Hootenanny which was a ton of fun. We have also done the costume party at Ronin's play group, pumpkin carving, a Santerian parade for the dead as well as the Zombie Walk and for the last week we have been taking long walks around the city too look at people Halloween decorations.
So for Today we are going to go to the park near our home and have a costume play date. After that there are a few kid friendly haunted houses that the apartment buildings put on. Then it is off to trick-or-treating. We wont be doing that for very long because Ronin doesn't need candy at his age, it is more too go see what everyone has done to there places. There are streets that go way more out for Halloween than for Christmas.
Before Ronin's bed time we will do a short family ritual to honour the dead.
After Ronin is asleep I have to pick up my sister from the bus terminal because she is coming down so we can party together. We tried really really hard to get a babysitter, but it is impossible on Halloween night. So my wonderful and ever loving husband sacrificed his night so I can party with my sister. She had been living in Newfoundland until last month and this is the first time I get to party with her since before she had her kids - over 5 years ago. Her wonderful husband is also staying at home with the kids.
It is going to be one hell of a day
Then on Sunday I am getting together with the local coven for a Samhain ritual.
