Sorry everyone--it has been a while since I was on here, but I wanted to let you know the developments going on in our household.
When I was on here this summer we were still chugging through the process to adopt from the foster care system. After having the private agency;s charter changed last minute, which did not allow us to adopt children under the age of 9 through them, we ended up at the end of June having to switch to the county and begin all over again going through the homestudy process. Whew! That was a trip and a half! Anyhow, so as we neared the end of that this fall, along with canning and many visitors dropping in before school started again, we were contacted by someone asking us if we would adopt her infant when it was due in March. Now I dont know how much you know about me, but my two younger sisters are adopted. My youngest sister, S, has two bio sisters she is still in contact with. And it was one of those who called us out of the blue and brought our foster/adopt journey to a screeching halt. We knew she could not handle another child--she already had a 4 month old at the time, and she was also alone, afraid and unsupported by a stable relationship. So we took a breath, and plunged in with eyes wide open.
Two weeks ago today we found out it was twins (almost for a while thought it was triplets according to the doc--that was a little scary). BM has been calling us every other day for two months and it has been a blast getting to know her and talk to her and helping her over the rough spots of life. then this week we found out it was twin girls--identical and sharing the same sac and placenta, so we are praying praying praying. BM actually flies in on Tuesday and will stay with us through the remainder of the pregnancy so we can help her with her now 6 month old and go with her to dr appts, and pretty much just be the love of Christ to a broken and hurting person. I am really looking forward to it!
If you want you can read more about the journey on my blog--I started a couple of weeks ago because everyone said I was too busy and they needed details. So there you go! Here is the address: www.thewelcominghouse.blogspot.com and I hope you are all doing as well in your journeys to add to your families. God Bless you!!
