As much as some would like to downplay what is portrayed in the movies, it's not just games/play and fun!
The things portrayed are real. My family/relatives were/are into the occult and I was raised in the (very very real) horrors of satanic ritual abuse. I have family members (one in particular) who had demonic visits and drew comics and wrote stories and even saw "movie scripts" in their heads based upon what demonic entities told/showed them.
JUST as surely the Holy Scriptures are GOD-inspired... satan has his counterfeits! They can be found in written form, audio/music, and every other form! His works are inspired by demonic spirits, and they "draw" people who are unsuspecting and ignorant of his devices!
So we can say it's all just innocent, harmless fun and games... all the while we are opening up doors in our hearts and minds, and satan laughs at our ignorance! He has a very real agenda, to steal and to kill and to destroy (our life, our hope, our joy, our faith... both here and in eternity)!
These are some verses of Scripture to consider when asking ourselves WHY we might choose not to partake in certain things:
Acts 21
25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.
II Cor 2
11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
12 Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,
*Interesting to me that this "opened door" from the LORD came after having opened their hearts to forgiveness. (Read prev verses.) We can open and we can close doors in the spiritual realm by choices we make in the here and now!
Acts 15
17That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
18Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
19Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

He said that if we abstain from these things, we will do WELL! (Brings to mind: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant... Mt 25" )
So someone might say... "I'm not DOING those things... just watching a movie where people pretend to do those things! That's perfectly harmless and I see no wrong in it!" Okay, so ...that seems logical, maybe, right?
But what about:

This is spoken with love and in hopes that someone who reads will hear, above all, the voice of our loving LORD... "Come out from among them and be ye separate!"

To me this year is the first year in which I haven't felt the need to be halloweenish.. I guess I feel after so many years things are so different. From the costumes, to the general idea of what halloween is. It's sad that once in it was fun, it was something that you didn't have to worry about.
Now it's check the candy, and all those horrid masks.
This year I spent no money on halloween. I decided that it was going to be something that time, and energy wasn't put in to. I really liked some of the points in this Journal. It has supporting facts..
I believe that Halloween is what you make it, and how serious you take it. As for the movies of horror... I am a bit upset that on almost every channel they are playing why not more of The great pumpkin Charile brown or something youthful instead of people getting killed over and over..
I am a believe in God... and well I am sure that he is looking his head down upon us and just shaking it in a side to side manner as to say ...I wish that people would give this much attention to the Real Reason for the Season .. When his holiday approaches.. I guess that's all I have to say.
Everyone is entitled to the way they feel, and he how they do things.. Who are we to judge them... for in the end we ourselves will be judged enough! .

It still amazes me that so many are willing to believe in the movie version of "satan" without realizing he could access them in their church, in their 'church' music, and in their INTERPRETATION of scripture.

Halloween has nothing to do with Satanism . It is a very old Pagan holiday from before christianity existed on this earth. Honey you might want to get a reality and history check.
