Apartment or House

Do you prefer an apartment or house? We are deciding about staying here in warren and buying a house or getting an apartment in vancouver, wa. I like the idea of having my own yard and fixing the way i want, but at the same time i don't like the insurance, nor maintence. apartment i like the idea of something breaks then they fix, but can't fix it the way i want nor a yard

Definitely a house.  More privacy.  You don't hear your neighbors private conversations.  Your own yard....... shall I go on :-)

HOUSE!!!!.

Vancover, Wa is a nice area. I'd say house...but then I don't like apts much. I like privacy...which is why we have 5 acres.  Be careful though, they build houses so close together these days, you may as well be in an apt.

what about renting a house?  we live in an apartment now, only because it's our only option really in Korea.  We came from a big farm house with a huge yard..i miss having a yard, but live in a very safe apartment complex with about a dozen ADT security guys walking the area at all time..so I feel safe allowing my 8 y.o. to play outside without me.

As far as insurance on a house goes, if you're renting an apartment, you should still think about renters insurance.  If anything happens to the apartment (fire, flood, etc) your own personal stuff won't be replaced or anything without the insurance.  But yeah..it's nice having someone to come by and fix things when need-be.
