Halloween is now over and it's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving!! Now is the time to start thinking about your Thanksgiving menu. This year I have been searching through all of the Tastefully Simple recipes to come up with some great ideas on ways to spice up your traditional Thanksgiving foods.

 

BEER BREAD STUFFING

Ingredients:

2 stalks diced celery

1/2 diced onion

1/2 cup butter

5 thick slices prepared BOUNTIFUL BEER BREAD MIX, cubed

2 tsp. SEASONED SALT

chicken broth or milk

Directions:

Saute celery and onion in butter until soft; add BOUTIFUL BEER BREAD cubes. Sprinkle with SEASONED SALT; stir to combine. Mixture will be dry. If preparing as a side dish, add enough chicken stock to moisten. Bake in greased casserole pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. If stuffing a bird, moisten the dressing with milk and stuff the cavity. Bake as directed for poultry. Enough stuffing for 6-7 pound bird.

 

 

Gourmet Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients:

5lbs. peeled, cubed potaotes

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup sour cream

1 Tbsp. SPINACH & HERB DIP MIX

1 Tbsp. GARLIC GARLIC

2 Tbsp.  BACON BACON

SEASONED SALT to taste

1 cup shredded cheddard cheese, divded

Directions:

Cook and mash potatoes; add next 5 ingredients. Sprinkle in SEASONED SALT and 1/2 cup cheese; spread into greased baking dish. Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 6-8 servings.

 

 

Bayou Green Bean Casserole

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp. BAYOU BOURBON GLAZE

6 cans (14.5 oz) French cut green beans, drained

2 cans (10 oz) cream of mushroom soup

6 oz. can french fried onions

Directions:

Combine first 3 ingredients in greased 9x13 baking dish and mix well; stir in half can fried onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Top with remaining fried onions and bake an additional 5 minutes. Makes 10-12 servings.

 

Nana's Pumpkin Cake

Ingedients:

NANA'S APPLE CAKE MIX

2 large eggs

1 cup canned pumpkin

Cool Whip

Directions:

Combine first 3 ingredients; stir to blend. Spread batter in greased 8x10 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve warm with Cool Whip. Makes 9 servings.

 

Nana's Pumpkin Trifle

Ingredients:

NANA'S APPLE CAKE MIX

2 eggs

15 oz. plus 1 cup pumpkin, divided

3.4 oz instant vanilla pudding

1 1/2 cups milk

1 cup Cool Whip

2 Tbsp. OH MY! CHAI

1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:

Combine NANA'S APPLE CAKE MIX, eggs, and 15 oz. pumpking; stir to blend. Spread batter in greased 8x8 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Cool completely; cube. Combine pudding, milk, remaining 1 cup pumpkin, Cool Whip, OH MY! CHAI and cinnamon; mix on low until it starts to set. Refridgerate 2 hours. In large bowl, layer cake, pudding, cake, Cool Whip. Repeat layers; top with Cool Whip. Sprinkle OH MY! CHAI and cinnamon on top. Chill 4 hours. Makes 12-15 servings.

 

 

Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Ingredients:

ABSOULTELY ALMOND POUND CAKE

3/4 cup melted butter

1 cup water

12oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Directions:

Prepare ABSOULTELY ALMOND POUND CAKE as directed on package with butter and water; add half of chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased budt-style pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes; cool. Melt remaining chocolate chips; drizzle over cooled cake. Makes 15 - 18 servings.
