Oliver POV
Dan decided to go home and get a couple hours of sleep before coming back with Landon. I was here and Serena was sound asleep. I watched him kiss her bye before he walked out and I smiled, he did love her. I could finally give my blessing and let them build their lives together. He would treat her right, and if he ever slipped up I would have to hurt him for hurting her.
Jared dropped in and brought a chess set. It was not wizard chess, but it was a game to help pass time. We chatted about any and everything. Just as Jared was done talking S woke up.
"Who had babies? What am I missing?" Serena said in a aggitated tone.
"Peni and Marcus had their babies, 4 healthy babies. And Sara and Blaise had a set of twins." Jared filled S in.
"Ollie, you have to go get gifts! I can't do it, so you need to please." She pleaded.
I nodded, I couldn't tell her no, not right now. She told me what to get then I left after Jared promised to call me if anything happened.
Jared POV
I haven't had any alone time with Serena in what seems like forever. I watched Oliver leave and then I went and sat beside her on the bed. She looked miserable but beautiful at the same time. She was the most beautiful girl I knew. I still loved her and no matter how hard I tried to let her go, there was a piece of me that couldn't.
"Jared, can I ask you someting?" She softly spoke. I nodded. "Will you be the baby's godfather?"
"I would be honored, but what about Cedric? He's Landon's godfather, won't it be confusing?"
"Cedric adores Landon! But this baby could be his nephew for real. He has promised to be Uncle Ceddy no matter what. I just wanted to offer it to you because you have been there for Landon so many times and I know you will be there for this little guy."
I looked at her, she was smiling a nervous little smile waiting for my answer. I smiled. "Of course, I'd love to be his godfather. Unless I am his father, then we'll have to rethink this."
Serena laughed and hugged me. She yawned and I held her playing with her hair as she drifted back to sleep. I closed my eyes to rest with her.
Serena POV
I felt a sharp pain in my side and I jerked awake knocking a sleeping Jared off the bed. Jared jumped up and saw me clenching my side and he took off screaming for help.
A healer came running into the room. "We have to take him now Serena. He is in distress."
I cried and told Jared to call Dan, Ollie, and Will. They pushed Jared out of the room and tried to calm me down. I was so scared and I was crying so hard. It was too early. My baby could die!
I got a shot of something that made me calm down, I laid there and prayed silently that I needed him to be okay. I felt another sharp pain and screamed.
"You need to push Serena, he's on his way."
The healer kept telling me to push then when to relax. With 3 pushes my baby was born. It was so fast! I didn't even get to see him before he was rushed out of the room.
The nurses finished up and I was left feeling alone and empty. They let everyone in the room and Dan ran to my side.
"I am sorry I wasn't here baby, they wouldn't let me come in." He had tears in his eyes.
I held his hand and through sobs I told him it was okay. "They didn't let anyone stay with me. It was so quick, they took my baby. I didn't even see him. I don't know if he is okay."
Jared, Will, and Oliver were by my side. We all comforted each other, reminding each other that he was going to be okay. I saw Dan's eyes shift to the door so I looked and I saw the nurse come in.
"Well, I have good news!" She smiled at me as she spoke. "You have a beautiful baby boy. He is very small, smaller than we thought he'd be, given the details you told us about your first child. He is 2 pounds and 3 ounces. A full head of hair, a cute little face. You can come see him as soon as they finish setting him up in his incubator. He will need to stay in here until he gets stronger, but they told me he is going to be just fine."
I smiled at her. "Thank you! I needed to hear that."
"Are we still testing him to find out who his father is?" She asked.
"Yes, please. Is it okay to do that now, with him being so tiny?"
"It's fine dear, I just didn't think it was needed because he takes after one of the guys in here already." She smiled at me. "I will go get those tests started now."
I looked at her with a shocked look as she walked away. I wanted to see him. I knew the minutes that passed were going to be like hours. Oliver left the room to walk by and see if he could see anything. He came back saying that he saw nothing.
Dan smiled at me, "So what are we going to call him?"
I hadn't had time to decide on a name. I had a few picked out but I wanted to see him and decide what one fit him best. "I don't know, I was going to decide when I saw him."
Oliver looked over at me. "We could give him a nickname for now, until you see him."
Will who had been very quiet spoke up. "We could call him Junior or Prince, something along those lines. Just until we can find a name for him."
"Prince, I like that." Jared said.
The nurse came and asked the men to leave. I laid back and the healer placed his hands on me. I felt a warming sensation in my body and then he moved his hands. "You are healed, you will need your energy so don't over do it or try to do to much. Would you like to come see your son?"
"Yes I need to see him."
I was unhooked from all of the machines and I slowly got out of bed. I slowly walked to the room where my baby was. I opened the door and saw an incubator all alone in the room. I saw a tiny little baby in there and I almost ran over to the bed. I looked inside and I saw a beautiful little boy.
I had to wash up before I touched him. I opened the little door and reached in to take his tiny hand in mine. I closed my eyes. I asked the nurse if she did the paternity test yet.
"I haven't sent it to the lab, but it's ready to go be done. Why?"
"You don't need to do them. I know who his father is." I told her and she nodded. He looked exactly like his father. She saw it too.
"Do you want to hold him?" She asked.
"Yes!" I sat in a chair and she handed me my tiny baby. "He was so little and looked so fragile. I hugged him and talked to him about Landon and all the people who he would have in his life.
I tried to feed him but he didn't understand how to suck so they put a feeding tube down his nose. I cried as they did it, but I knew he needed it to get some food in his tummy.
I kissed his tiny head and laid him back in his bed as he slept away. He looked so peaceful. I smiled and then asked when I could come back.
"I'll come get you when he wakes up, is that okay?" She said.
"Yes thank you. Now I have to go tell his daddy he has a beautiful son."
We waved bye to each other and I walked down the hall to my room thinking about how I was going to go through this without hurting the others who had been there for me.
