His fingers moved across the strings as they normally did. Playing a melody that had been stuck in his head for the last month and a half. It had come to him as usual when he was in the tub, soaking away the events of the day. Most of the time when he thought of Ruki, it always dealt with the younger man’s stubborn-ness or his ability to be a bigger diva than most American female performers. But as time went on, his thoughts morphed into something entirely different. He soon started to think about how cute the other looked during those "being difficult" spells. When Ruki would sing, all of the emotion he puts into his voice and expressions would get to him, making something flutter inside of him that he had never felt before. Sure he had mentioned in many interviews that Ruki’s voice was powerful, but he had never felt it like this before and that’s when the tune came along. Plaguing his thoughts every waking moment of the day until he finally sat down and decided to play it aloud.

Nodding his head as he played the last cord on his acoustic guitar, he gently laid his fingers over the vibrating strings, stopping them before setting it back in its stand and heading to his computer.

He had to get these feelings out of his mind and into song form. He wanted everyone to know how he felt even though he knew he could never say them with words. The music alone would let everyone know that he had in fact fallen for someone and that from then on, there would be no more of this ‘depressed’, ‘moody’, ‘emo’ Aoi. Just the thought of what his fans said about him made him cringe, but now they would know he was no longer that person.

Diligently putting together the different instruments of the song, he smiled to himself as he added the soft violins, the bass line and of course the guitars. Though it took a couple days, Aoi was extremely happy with the final product and took it with him -along with another song- to the song selection meeting the group was having.

The meeting went the same as it always did. Some being accepted, others not, some rethought on and added back when others that were accepted were booted out. Aoi’s insides rolled when they came around to his songs. He really hoped Ruki liked the one he made with him in mind. Not just because all of his love and hard work would be sitting on the cutting room floor if denied, but because if Ruki did like it, it would mean he felt its deep meaning and that was enough for Aoi. As the younger man listened to the music, nodding his head to the beat, Aoi felt a little spark on the inside light up inside of him. Ruki hadn’t said anything yet, which meant…

"I like it.." he said, reaching his hand back to scratch the back of his -now brunette- head, "Good job, Aoi-kun."

"Thanks," Aoi responded with a smile.

As the days turned into a few weeks, Aoi felt anxiousness build up inside of him as he wondered what kind of lyrics would Ruki put to the song. The song he made for him. The song that had every ounce of pure love that Aoi could give. The day finally came for Ruki to lay his vocals over the track and Aoi literally wanted to jump out of his skin as he saw the smaller sit comfortably in a chair, adjusting his headphones. As the music began Aoi hummed along with the song, waiting for Ruki to begin. When Aoi heard that beautiful voice begin in a small whisper, he felt goose bumps rise on his arms. It was as if Ruki had been in his head the whole time, knowing exactly how he wanted to convey his feelings. He felt like he wanted to cry and he held back those tears as he listened to the music, his face suddenly changing as the lyrics went on.

What the …. He wanted to say aloud, but didn’t, holding it in as Ruki kept going, stopping for a moment to redo a part and continued on. Something inside of Aoi crushed, bringing his feelings down and he stepped outside the room and went outside for a smoke.

It wasn’t long before the vocalist appeared outside and Aoi cut his eyes at the other, "That was supposed to be a love song Ruki." Aoi hissed.

"Love song?" the smaller quizzed, arching an eyebrow as he lit his own cigarette.

"Yes a love song~!"

"HA! My lyrics aren’t love songs, Aoi" Ruki then took a puff of his cigarette, ‘Breakup. Yeah… Want to makeup but cant, maybe.. But love… no.."

"Well…" Aoi started before he was interrupted.

"Besides… What makes you want to have a love song suddenly? Who’s the lucky girl?" Of course Aoi didn’t answer that question. He quickly changed the subject to about the weather and how it was supposed to rain. Ruki knew Aoi was getting nervous. He had been around him long enough to know that when he didn’t want to talk about something, instead of saying it, he just changed the subject -usually to something that had no real importance-. The action was all he needed to know that Aoi had indeed written that song because of someone. But who? Holding his hands on his sides as he let the cylinder dangle in his mouth he said, "Come on Shiroyama, who is she? Someone I know?"

"No its not!" Aoi shouted out before realizing his mistake. "I mean.. um…" but he knew it was too late to fix it.

"Ha ha .. It is.. I knew it.. Who is she?" Ruki wiggled his eyebrows as he tried to coax the other into confessing, humming when Aoi shook his head and looked down. ‘Ah.. So.. Its not a she.. But.. A .. HE!" Of course, Ruki was only joking. The other member’s tried to keep their sex lives secret and they had no idea……. Well.. never mind. Everyone knew about him and his back and forth between men and women, but still, this information was just something too juicy for him to pass up and he really wanted to know.

Aoi bit his lip as he tossed down his cigarette and stamped it out. There was no way in hell he was telling him that the song was for him. Ruki would never let him live it down. He’d probably make fun of him for months because of it. He could already hear the taunts echoing in his mind. Nope, not happening. He quietly turned towards the studio entrance to walk back inside, but was stopped by an out stretched arm.
"What!?"

"Tell me."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because."

"Because what?"

"Its nothing."

"Oh.. So this person that was your inspiration for this song was nothing. Hmm… They must feel lucky to have you as an admirer."

"Its not that Ruki.. Its…. "

"Its?" Ruki scooted in his line of view, moving his face forward with an excited expression across it. Aoi felt himself begin to melt. How could he continue to deny the object of his affection their wish? Sighing deeply Aoi gazed into Ruki’s contact clad eyes.

"If I tell you will you leave me alone?"

"Yes.. Well.. Depends." of course Aoi huffed to that response.

"Promise not to make fun of me?"

"Yet again.. That depends" Ruki answered again.

"Promise or I wont say anything."

"Fine fine.. I promise.."

Looking down at Ruki and how cute he was just standing there, all anxious about the mystery person, caused Aoi to crack. He lowered his head and whispered the name as softly as possible.

"Who!?" the brunette asked with a lopsided grin. Again the name was whispered but a little louder. "It seems we need to hook your amps up to you Aoi-kun, you cant seem to gain in volume."

"Fuck Ruki….." He cursed, looking dead in said man’s eyes now, "You.. I wrote the song for you."

What Ruki did next, Aoi didn’t expect. He tipped up on his toes, placing a kiss on Aoi’s cheek, smiling as he pulled away. "Now.. That wasn’t all that hard now was it?"

"Wait… what?"

"Nothing…" Ruki responded, turning away from the guitarist, sashaying towards the doors before stopping and looking over his shoulder, "OH… and the song.. Stays the same," Aoi frowned deeply at those words as Ruki smirked, "But, you and I can go out to dinner later on."
