My son has Friends! A new one who wants to come over and have Michael teach him math! Michael in spite of his Autism or because in part of it is in the superior range in mathematics. last spring he tested advanced in the state test and now he was just tested again .....His reading comprehension...well just say it is on the opposite side of the coin:-) but that is another story!

This friend wants to come over for a play date ! Now I can see...his teachers can see....but his dad refuses to see he has some sort of ADD or ADHD....but I do not care! There is no way he is harder to handle than my son...LOL...I cannot even get a sitter except for his old ABA therapist because people are afraid of him....LOL...Michael is not bad but he has amazing energy that gets "Misguided" sometimes....I say things like "Michael! Do NOT break the tree!" "Michael! Do NOT swing that stick!" "Michael! Do  NOT throw mud (rocks,branches,tires,toys,...if it is not nailed down he will throw it...) !"

I do however allow him to destroy an old willow stump...he almost has it out now!

oops! off topic....anyway! I am so happy about this boy. Michael has 2 other neighborhood friends that come around...both with ADD/ADHD .....it is good ....you see Michael does not talk much....these boys do all the talking and he is ok with that:-) They play etc....

Michael is a kind soul and will help people when they are hurt:-) it is nice to see there are friends for him and that they are coming to him and I do not have to seek out them for him....I never pushed him socially...I just have been working on appropriate social behavior...I even have his school speech therapist working on social language in the form of social stories. Basically if he can't adapt in school socially he will not adapt academically....

well I have to go. I just had to write down how excited I am about this step....

have a great day all!
