Why can't they just wish me well?

As some of you know I am due with my first baby in 2 days.
What a lot of you do not know is that this pregnancy is a blessing and I consider it a miracle. I am a cervical cancer survivor who refused a hysterectomy 10 years ago.
I have had a great pregnancy. I am 39 now, I have gained 20 lbs total, my blood pressure has been consistently great (except that one time) and I haven't been moody, tired or weird in any way. In fact, my last day at work was last week.
I had a Dr. Appt. today. DD dropped but my cervix has yet to efface at all, no where near soft.
Doc is concerned because my uterus is tilted toward my bladder, not a huge deal, but he is concerned. If I don't go into labor by next Monday he wants me to come in for a sonogram and another cervix check.
He says if I haven't progressed I have the option of Cervidil to soften my cervix or a c section. I want to at least try the Cervidil. If it doesn't work, then I will let him perform the c section.
I have zero family in my state. I called a few family members for the update and emailed the few friends that have been curious about my progression (which has gotten really annoying to the point I have anxiety).
What do I get in return? A Bunch of "I'm so sorries","Are you SURE you want to do that" ,"I hope you don't have to do that"," Maybe you should get a second opinion"
I don't want condolences. HOLY SHIT I am going to give birth one way or another and I am ok with it. I have never given anyone the impression I am upset about it.
So, I respond to a few people that I am ok with what is going on and I would hope they would just keep me in mind over the next few days. I get more sympathy responses and info on my choices.
Fucking people, I swear. I didn't ask for help! Don't people know when to zip it?
So now that I responded that I am ok with it and I would appreciate support in lieu of comments and their suggestions I get pissy responses. Really?
I just want to tell all of them to piss off! I just wanna scream!

Do you think it could possibly be that they know it is far better for mother and baby if intervention is not used and that they only want what is best for you and for your baby? I'd be willing to bet that is the reason behind all their comments.
May I be the first to say to you that I hope everything goes well. Sometimes when people don't know what to say, they say the wrong thing. It's not worth getting upset over, really. Your beautiful baby will be here and that's all you need to think about.

BTW - love your screen name. I am KIM too and love the Tao of Kim thing. Funny! 
I'm sorry. While they may think they're only suggesting what they think is best for you and your baby, a lot of times people don't realize that even well meaning advice, when unsolicited and unwanted, can come off as obnoxious. Congratulations on your daughter's impending birth. However she may arrive, her birth is something to be celebrated. :)
I WISH U WELL!!! I am excited for u cuz I know u've been wanting that little girl out! LOL I've never had the Cervadil or whatever, but I have had two c-sections (one emergency, one regular) and both were awesome...better than my vag delivery actually! LOL Anyways, glad to hear u are nearing the end...I'll keep thinking about u and the little miss and hopefully she'll decide to cooperate for ya and get ya dilating! LOL Keep me posted on u both!!!

Congratulations! I wish you well! Mean people suck!
Ignore them and have an awesome birth (either way it works out). Family... who knows w/them sometimes, it's like they NEVER know the right things to say, but like I always like to say, thankfully, God gives us a second chance to choose our own family in the form of friends. Thankfully for me and it sounds like you too! Hang in there Mama!
