Today I was in bible study and we started talking about it(being gay) and of course I brought up what I thought about it and stuff like that. Our bible teacher was saying that basicly we should not judge because a sin is a sin and one sin is not greater than any other. Being gay is not bigger than anyother sin just like gossip and gettin drunk or doing drugs its the same just a differnt thing. After bible study my husband and I went to put gas in our truck and it came to my mind what she said was true I shouldnt judge or think differently about people who choose to live that kinda life because I am a sinner my self and I am no better than them NO One is perfect. I always thought "O man being gay is prolly the worst thing ever" but its not because every sin is bad and no sin is greater than a nother its all the same in Gods eyes. I don't hate people who live that life I should love them no matter what they choose. We should love everyone no matter what because no one is perfect and its not you who I am acountable to for my life or you who is acountable to me, what we do its only between us and God because at the end its all about God and how we lived our lives to please him. I hope this makes sence.
people arnt gay because they chose to, its just the way they want to. go back to your kkk meeting biggot

Wow, I think that is a bit harsh. Of course being gay is not a choice, but if we are ever going to gain equal rights for gay people in this country, the change is going to come from people like this woman who have small changes of heart. Rather than bash someone for not comming to the same idealology that we have, why not welcome her into the light, thank her for her newly enlighted point of view, and allow her to take her own baby steps towards our side. I do not think that type of language is called for at all.
to the OP, I agree with your bible teacher, and I thank you for taking a moment to reflect on your faith, and to be willing to change your mind when presented with new information. That is a big thing for many people, that they never find the strength to do.
Hugs and
Much love
Alex
i agree. Honestly, I don't mind how people decide to live their lives, as long as it doesn't interfere with my life and how I do things.
I'm a Christian who truly does practice what she preaches, but I also think that judgement belongs to God, not me. I would rather live next door to a gay couple than next door to a woman or man who has multiple partners and lives an immoral lifestyle. I truly do believe that people are born gay, due to imperfection not due to a choice. Just like someone can be born with a certain predisposition for anything. I hate to refer to it as some sort of disease or something but I really think that they cannot help who they are, and should embrace it. It's not for me to say that God doesn't love them because I know he does, now whether or not they as a group will gain salvation is not up to me, it's up to them as individuals and God.
I agree 100% being gay is no bigger sin than stealing, killing, and lying in God eyes it is A Sin .As a christian I know this because this is what the bible calls it Sin and your Right God loves a homosexual just as much as he loves any other Sinner.
1 Corinthians 6:9
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
As Christians we accept Christ because we know that all have sin and fallen short , And without a savior we are destine to eternity without Christ but once we accept Christ we are no Longer a Sinner. The bible tell us we become a new creation in Christ no longer bond to sin but FREE in Christ Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new
Romans 6:22
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.created
Romans 8:1
[ Free from Indwelling Sin ] There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Do I personally believe that God makes Homosexuals NO! that is saying God Created Sin. The bible tell us that in the beginning God created men in His image! So I believe it is a choice who you choose to lie down with.
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply;( and commanded them to reproduce man and man and female and female can not reproduce!) fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
The original word arsenokoites (Greek) since the 1st century has been commonly understood to mean shrine prostitutes. The word homosexuals was added to the Bible in arsenokoites place.
OP- I wanted to say that your message here is of love, and as a Christian who advocates gay rights, I have to say that it is so nice to see that there are those willing to see this subject from a different perspective. =)
I am not at all saying that I am for gay rights and what not because I am not for it just like I am not for being an drunk or for any other thing of that sort. I believe we should love every one but not support what we feel is wrong that they do.
I understand that completely. I just think it is nice that you have seen another perspective in that you don't comdemn them but love them despite the fact that you don't agree. That's a good thing. =)
Here you Go kelley a break down of where throughout the bible it is called as sin !again I am not saying God hates gay in anyway But as a CHRISTIAN my beliefs are that it is a Sin just as any other sin for us Christians
The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When people continue in sin and unbelief, God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.
God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that people become homosexuals because of sin (Romans 1:24-27) and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as some people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person’s choosing to sin by giving in to sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger/rage, does that make it right for him to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true with homosexuality.
However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Philippians 4:13).
