Today was the second day of my vegetarian challenge. I did well, no meat either day. Today was the first time I had gone grocery shopping though. It was odd because I had to change my whole attack plan for the store. Usually I go through the produce picking up maybe one or two items, a loaf of bread at the bakery departement and then right to the meat and frozen foods where I buy the bulk of my groceries. Today however I avoid the area completely. There was nothing for me in the meat of course, but even in the frozen meals section there was nothing that I could say 100% 'yes this is a vegetarian meal' so nothing from there. I also completely avoided the canned food isle. Nothing for me there either and I am not too big on canned veggies either. I am glad I missed it because one of the first things I found out when I logged on to Cafe Mom today was that there has been BPA found in canned veggies.
So now at my grocers skip the canned section, the pre-made frozen food section, the meat section and the pop/chip/candy/packaged juice sections all together. I did stop at the tiny tiny vegetarian section that they have and picked up a pack of licks veggie burgers. Those burgers are so freaking good.
So not only eatting healthier, but spending less time in the grocery store. Not to bad for 2 days in.

Wow, I'm taking on the same challenge also.I'm also feeling better.Got the whole family on a veggie diet.They are coming round slowly .Been veggie now for aroung 4 mths.I see no going back to my former meat days.Keep up the journal, I'd love to see how your doing.
