I haven't written a journal post in a long time. But this little story needs to be told. So here goes.........
This is the first time ever (yesterday morning), that I went to turn on my laptop and it wouldn't turn on!! Not at all. I couldn't believe it!! I kept pressing the on button and nothing happened. I didn't even get a blank screen. Nada!!! My laptop is only 8 months old and is a very nice one - a Dell model. So imagine my dismay to find it not working! I was trying to control my panic and not run around my house like a frantic maniac. I was seriously suffering from internet withdrawal. I started to feel the shakes. LOL This pc is as precious to me as my first cup of joe in the morning!!! I have a morning ritual........get out of bed, turn on pc, make a cup of coffee, then check emails, do online banking, read aol news, and last but not least - play on Cafemom. Does this routine sound familiar to any of you moms? I was distraught and praying that my pc did not completely die on me from some unforseen virus. I was seriously scared! I have some very important documents (including 10 completed, good poems that I wrote) that I did not want to lose forever! So I spent my day doing housework (fun, fun). At least I was productive. I forced myself to keep busy. Finally, in the later part of the afternoon, I took my laptop to our local Staples ten minutes from my house. And lo and behold, the computer technician fixed it in 5 minutes - for FREE!!! I was shocked. I thought for sure I had some horrible virus or multiple viruses that had done major damage. Perhaps even blowing up my computer. Boy was I relieved!! I was almost ecstatic when I logged on at 5 pm and checked my emails, then Cafemom. I am really not kidding when I say that I was suffering from internet withdrawal. LOL But I made it through most of the day without my beloved computer;-) So I proved that I can get by for one solid day of no pc. But hopefully, this does not happen again. I got lucky this time;-)
