Ronan has come a long way since he was born. For those of you that don't know his whole story. Ronan was born 4 weeks early. We were told shortly after he was born he had Trisomy 21 also known as Down Syndrome. We had no clue anything was wrong with him before he was born. I had had several ultrasounds before he was born only to be told he was a very healthy baby boy. He was born with Esophageal Atresia (his esophagus wasn't connected) and also a hole in his heart.
He underwent surgery to repair his esophagus at one day old. He spent the first 38 days of his life in the NICU due to respiratory and feeding issues. He came home for a few days and went back in for four due to apnea episodes.
Despite a recent setback with pneumonia Ronan is thriving now. He has rolled over since he was five and half weeks, smiling since six weeks, and laughing since around eight. Ronan babbles and communicates with us in several ways he greets me every morning with a smile when I go to wake him. He is very determined and has hit all the obsatacles in his way head on. I'm very proud of my son Ronan Jesse. Here's the link to his video.
