Now I kinda get it. You know, that eyeroll thing your kids give you when you tell them you love them or hold out your arms for a hug. Are you ready? WE'RE ANNOYING THEM!!!
Yep, that's it. We're annoying them. They get it. They know we love them, have known it all their lives, so what's with all the repetition? (That's what they're thinking, we call it reinforcement)
I was writing a letter to my almost 21 yr old daughter this morning and when I finished, I reread it before sealing it up and putting a stamp on the already addressed envelope. Guess what the very first sentence was? Yep. You got it - I love you. Not so bad in and of itself; she wouldn't think so either. So I get to the end of the letter and guess what the very last sentence is? Yep - I love you. I picture her eyes rolling back in her head, and a big smile breaks across my face. I'm nearly laughing with the just finished letter still in my hand. Yep, I'm annoying her.
I'm so happy she's in my life to annoy!
Can you feel the love? I can!
