formula feeding for baby #2. just as it was for our first
Ok so i will start off by saying my mom was a real big pusher of breast feeding when it came down to it. she breast fed all 4 of us girls and urged us to do the same.
WELL..... my husband and i had got pregnant when i was 18 with a baby boy. at the time of conception I was 96lbs 5ft 2in. so i wasnt big at all. I combined formula with breast milk from the begining with him. well within 6wks I wieghed 74lbs. I then realized it wasn't going to work. I had to focus more on gaining wieght than my own guilt for not breast feeding. my son has always been healthy. he doubled his wieght before expected to. and out grew an infant seat before time. at the age of 18mos he finally slowed down.
SOOOO here we are on baby #2 and once again i was small in the begining. the baby is on the same level my 1st son was and is expected to be an 8lb baby. which is expected due to the fact that my hubby is just a big guy. (daddy is 5 10 and wieghs 270 (muscle) and my mom and i were talking the other day and I expressed my concerns about going down the breastfeeding road again. her being a nurse and a mother agreed that maybe breastfeeding would not be a good idea. due to my body burning extra fat and calories as fast as it does. It would not be healthy for me which in turn would not be good for the baby. she actually said "you know i honestly think you are the first person I personally know that has a legit reason not to breastfeed"
Thing is it upset me to stop with my first one and i was looking forward to a second chance. But i guess we will all be healthy and that is what counts....RIGHT.
I had to write this so that some breast feeding moms who get so heated over hearing about a mother formula feeding can see one reason that it isn't the answer for EVERY ONE.

I didn't vote because I try not to judge. I just wanted to say that a good friend of mine is a lactation consultant and I have learned a lot from her about what is possible in the world of BF. If you really want to BF I believe you could consult a dietitian about a nutrition plan and make it work. I don't know how bad you really want to do it. I know I would do anything I had to do to bf again as it was one of the most amazing experiences I have been blessed to have in my life! Best of luck to you either way and good for you for trying to educate people about the fact that things are not always black and white and we should all try not to judge one another.
If you don't feed your baby something, breastmilk or formula, THEN there is an issue

you and every mother should do what is right for them and forget all the BS other women spout on it. sounds to me like your weight loss would bea very very bad thing and you are right to do what is right for you BOTH.
