Shortly after Major Malik Nadal Hasan and two other unnamed shooters allegedly opened fire at the largest U.S. military installation in the world, Ft. Hood in Texas, President Barack Obama held a press conference to address the issue. Before getting around to the shooting that has already claimed a dozen lives and wounded at least 31 people, he began his remarks by saying:

I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow (ph) was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It’s good to see you.

The quotation says it all: our commander-in-chief feels there is no event so serious that it cannot be prefaced by a moment of glib hipness, no solemn loss so sacred he will deny himself a moment of wry self-indulgence. Soldiers were killed? Let’s say hi to Joe first. An entire theater of war needs a plan to defeat the terrorists who struck America on 9/11? No reason I can’t go golfing, shoot some hoops, and hit the town with Michelle.

President Bush used to break into tears when addressing soldiers and was reviled as a stone-hearted warmonger; Donald Rumsfeld was demonized for using a machine to sign notification letters to fallen soldiers’s next-of-kin. President Obama gives out rounds of virtual fist-bumps to his buds before even mentioning a slaughter of American soldiers, perpetrated by Americans, in mid-America.

We desperately need an adult in the White House. Sadly, today’s press conference proves we do not have one.

(Incidentally, the shooter — who killed 12 people with two handguns — is reportedly a convert to Islam incensed about being sent to war.)

how are shooters, unarmed shooters? there is something very wrong with all of this.

how people react to a tragedy is differnt person to person. what someone else says even the president, is subject to thier way of reacting to things. i am so sick of people loking for every freaking little bad mark to claim on our president.

Since you're so fond of copying and pasting nonsense from right wing websites with NOTHING else going on except making up lies and slander about our President, here's what he ACTUALLY said:

President Obama said this afternoon addressed what he called "a horrific outburst of violence" at the Fort Hood Army Post today, where 12 people were killed and 31 wounded by a shooter.

"It's difficult enough when we lose these brave Americans in battles overseas," the president said. "It is horrifying that they should come under fire at an Army base on American soil."

"My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded, and with the families of the fallen, and with those who live and serve at Fort Hood," he said at the Tribal Nations Conference at the Department of the Interior, where he had been scheduled to give remarks.

There was an audible gasp in the crowd when the president mentioned the shooting, indicating that attendees of the conference had not yet heard about it.

The president said he had spoke to Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen, and said he would be continually updated about the situation.

"We are working with the Pentagon, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security, all to ensure that Fort Hood is secure, and we will continue to support the community with the full resources of the federal government," the president said.

"In the meantime I would ask all Americans to keep the men and women of Fort Hood in your thoughts and prayers," he continued. "We will make sure that we get answers to every single question about this horrible incident."

"And I want all of you to know that as Commander in Chief, there is no greater honor, but also no greater responsibility for me, than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for and that their safety and security when they are at home is provided for," said Mr. Obama.

"So we are going to stay on this," he concluded. "But I hope in the meantime that all of you recognize the scope of this tragedy and keep everybody in their thoughts and prayers."

You DO realize that the Congressional Medal of Honor is one given Solely to MILITARY personnel who have distinguished themselves by risking their own lives in military duty against an enemy of the United States.

He was prefacing a tragic event by recognizing and applauding the sacrifices and honor of serving in the military. And in so he recognized those who have lost their lives at the Fort Hood incident

Furthermore, it shows multitudes of YOUR bad character to use the tragedy of the Fort Hood incident as a platform to complain about the president. Have you NO compassion for the families that have lost loved ones or are still waiting to hear that their loveds ones are okay?  Apparently you don't.

Just because I do not agree with this administration and the way the he presents himself, does not make me an idiot.  I am so sick of all these people that think he is so wonderful and I've asked a MILLION TIMES.... WHAT THE HELL HAS HE DONE THAT IS SO WONDERFUL AND WHAT IS HE DOIING THAT IS SO WONDERFUL you people are up his butt!!!!

If you can not see what is happening to this country, you are either so damn blind and stupid or you just don't care.  But I am so sick of all these people that call us "right Wing", please just call me an American that cares about what future my kids have.

Just because you do not and you want to continue to trust this administration, the only thing I can say is good for you, but some day you'll be singing a different tone, but then you'll be too proud to admit that just maybe you were wrong.

So you can believe what you want about this man, but don't blame anyone but yourselves when things go to HELL.

And you don't have to be a Left or Right to realize that Big Government and out of control spending, is not what is best for this country and it is not what people want.  It doesn't take much brains to figure that out, so maybe there is hope for some.

If you really think you are being told the truth, the oh well, but if you want to know the truth in what is going on, then DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND READ THESE BILLS that are being passed and UNDERSTAND the Constitution of the United States of AMERICA.

You're making alot of assumptions about others based on ONE thing. DO I agree with the spending, HELL NO.  Am I using that as a reason to try to defame the character of the POTUS? Hell No. I have class and tact. If I disagree, I write my congressman and senators, not tmake up conspiracy theories and spread hate. ESPECIALLY not in light of a shooting on a military base BY military personnel obviously suffering from PTSD. And you call US Un-American.  HA

Where is the post about the Ft Hood tragedy? Why not show a  modicum of respect for those lost and injured and post about that instead of twisting a national tragedy to suit your own anti-Obama agenda? You can't put it aside for one moment? Honestly. You decry his lack of respect, but where is yours?

The Demcrats (Left) LIE, they keep saying abortion is not in the Healthcare Bill and IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THAT IT IS.  THERE ARE A HANDFUL of Democrats that said they would not support this bill until Abortion is taken out, so IF it is not in the BILL, WHY WOULD YOUR OWN PARTY Say they wouldn't vote for it unless it's taken OUT!!!

DAH!!!!!!!!!
