Lately I have been reading and hearing about so very many things that happen to children.  Not scary things but touching and sad.  I read about Elana's notes- a 6 year old who was diagnosed with a brain cancer and given 130 days to live.  She drew and made 100's of little notes saying "I love you" and such and hid them around the house for her parents and little sister to find when she was gone.  I just read about a potential new gene therapy for children with ALD (a disease which strips the coating from nerves and kills little boys between the ages of 4-10 within years causing blindness, dementia and loss of muscle control) using a sterlie HIV gene.

So my point is I just have to think how very lucky I am to have two sweet little kids who are in the bigger scope of things just perfect.  So I am going to give them extra hugs today and tell them how wonderful they are.

And even on the most challenging of days with them, I'll take a deep breath and remember how lucky my family is.
