KILL THE BILL ~ NOT THE BABIES!!!

It's one thing to say that you believe in a woman's right to choose to kill her child, but quite another to take away another persons right NOT to pay for it.

ACT NOW!!! ~ NO GOVERNMENT-FUNDED ABORTIONS!!!
Go here to let your Rep. in Congress know > http://www.house.gov/

For those who might be a bit confused about what to ask your representative to do here it is in layman's terms.

Vote NO on Palosi's "closed rule" or else the Stupak amendment can never be voted on. If the Stupak amendment is voted on then it is likely that will pass.

Vote NO on the closed rule.
Vote YES on the Stupak amendment.

If the healthcare reform bill is not intended to make way for government funded elective abortions then what's the problem of passing an amendment that would prevent it? At worst it would have no effect.

If Democrats truly believe in Democracy then why are they trying to get in the way of it by trying to close down the vote on the very popular amendment?

And before anyone starts arguing that abortion is not in the healthcare bill, I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT, because it has been proven that it is.

Oh well, I don't care whether or not you want to hear it (obviously, you have problems with the truth to begin with), but I'm going to say it anyway. YOUR CLAIMS ARE FALSE!

Maybe you can try reading an INDEPENDENT (as opposed to your usual conspiracy theory) website, and accept that you're wrong. Probably not though...

Guess after we stop paying for the abortions, we can pick up the tab for fostering and rehabilitating unwanted and neglected children...I know I know I'm an immoral and insane person to throw out that perspective.

Anouck, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.  When you have a number of Democrats (no sure exact number) that are not going to vote for the healthcare bill because abortion funding is in it.  Then after watching CSPAN and the read the bill and it says it is in there.  They have a paragraph (not sure the paragraph number) that says it is not funded, but then there is a paragraph that says "disguard paragraph (the abortion paragraph)), so it is null and void.

Also, each amendment that is going through Congress to get the funding out of the bill, has been shot down or Pelosi will not let them vote on it.  So if it is not in there, WHY in the world would there be amendments to get it OUT!!!!!

Someday you will get you HEAD OUT OF THE SAND!!!! Until then, please do not comment on my post, because you do not know anything and you are not worth arguing with.

Dispel the Myth

President Obama continues to perpetuate the myth that federal funds will not be used to pay for abortions through proposed health care legislation. Mr. President, here’s why you are incorrect…

Question:

Won’t the Hyde Amendment and Capps Compromise prohibit tax payer funded abortions?

Answer:

On July 30, the House Energy and Commerce Committee added to H.R. 3200 an amendment written by staff to Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Ca.) and offered by Rep. Lois Capps (D-Ca.), both of whom have consistently pro-abortion career voting records. This “phony compromise” explicitly authorizes the “public plan” to cover all abortions.

This would drastically change longstanding federal policy. This means that any citizen who wants to take advantage of the public plan will be compelled to purchase coverage for abortion on demand.

The federal agency will collect the premium money, receive bills from abortionists, and send the abortionists payment checks from a federal Treasury account. It is a sham to pretend that this does not constitute funding of abortion. If this passes, the federal government will be running a nationwide abortion-on-demand insurance plan.

Under H.R. 3200 as amended by the Capps Amendment, some private plans may elect not to include abortion, but private plans that cover elective abortion will be federally subsidized. Both bills provide funds for the new premium-subsidy program through a new funding pipeline that would not be subject to the Hyde Amendment, which is merely a year-to-year provision that currently prevents federal funding of abortions in the Medicaid program.

As the Associated Press accurately reported in its August 5, 2009, analysis, “A law called the Hyde amendment applies the [abortion] restrictions to Medicaid . . . The [Obama-backed] health overhaul would create a stream of federal funding not covered by the restrictions.”

Further, there is no doubt whatever that the Obama Administration would immediately use the Capps authorization to cover elective abortions in the public plan.

On July 17, 2007, Barack Obama appeared before the annual conference of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.  Speaking of his plans for “health care reform,” Obama said, “In my mind, reproductive care is essential care.  It is basic care, and so it is at the center and at the heart of the plan that I propose.”

He also stated that, “What we’re doing is to say that we’re gonna set up a public plan that all persons and all women can access if they don’t have health insurance.  It’ll be a plan that will provide all essential services, including reproductive services.”

Moments ago, Planned Parenthood sent out a mass
e-mail blast to abortion supporters calling it an
EMERGENCY ...

... Here's what they're terrified of:

Late last night, the House leadership -- realizing
their health care reform bill didn't have the needed
votes while containing an abortion mandate -- agreed
to allow a vote today on the bi-partisan pro-life
amendment offered by Rep. Bart Stupak and Rep. Joe
Pitts that explicitly excludes government funding of
abortion in health care reform.

Your calls and e-mails made the difference to allow
for this amendment which could help to save millions
of lives from abortion -- and prevent Planned
Parenthood and the rest of the abortion industry from
receiving a massive government funded bailout!

Now, everything comes down to what's happening on the
House floor right now.

Planned Parenthood is begging abortion advocates to
call Congress now and "reject this attack..." by
demanding opposition to the Stupak/Pitts amendment.

If they succeed and the abortion mandate is not
removed from health care reform, Planned Parenthood
will be sending out a victory e-mail tomorrow -- and
preparing to ramp up its operations to handle the
largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade.

Even if you have called before, it is critical that
you pick up the phone RIGHT NOW and tell your U.S.
Representative: "Remove abortion funding and mandates
from health care reform!"
