I remember a time when the girls were young... Kyra would always leave me gifts of love in the bathtub.... little brown floating gifts of joy... we got into the habit of scooping them out with a goldfish net... it was fun... Now you know the background...

When I was spending the week at my parents with the kiddies... our sleeping arrangements consisted of an airmatress and a pad on the floor.. the girls took turns sleeping with me and on the floor.  Close to bed time.. Aurora was facing her doom to be on the floor.  The girls were talking to me while I was changing Gage on the floor bed.... Diaper off..... Check    Wiped off clean..... Check   Put the diaper on the baby..... no way in hell.....

Gage broke for the boarder.... gleefully laughing... dragging along all of what God gave him on Aurora's blanket. Doing what I call... Slugging...

Over the laughs of joy screaching from Gage...Aurora stands up and points at the blanket and protests " I am not sleeping on that!" followed by a "MOM! You have to wash that... I dont want to sleep on the pee blanket!

Kyra is rolling on the bed pointing at her sister... Aurora looks like she just may cry....I am grabbing ankles of the escaping child and thought of things the girls used to do... and now they are worried about a clean baby on the blanket?

I said, " Well Kyra used to fish poop out of the tub!" Now Kyra shut up, and Aurora was pointing and laughing at her... And then I turned to Aurora and said... " and you used to try and help... with your hands.... " Perfect..... Both girls were quiet, diaper was on baby, and Aurora did sleep on that blanket.  Its good to have our treasure chests of stories! It keeps peace on the front lines!

May. 10, 2007 at 2:28 AM I love reading your posts....you should write professionally.....lol,  I think I have short term memory cause I forget those things, well come to think of it my kids are still to young to have good stories like that.  I'll have to remember your combat strategy.  I've already used the chicken butt story.

May. 10, 2007 at 4:07 PM I use to leave the little brown floating gifts for my mom, she still brings it up and I am 22 now. It really just assures me that I am going to have a life time of things to tell about my children.
