Relatives.... blech!

I have to vent about my loser relatives.  I know that is not a nice thing to say but they really dont care about anyone but themselves.  My one aunt and uncle moved here from NYC a year ago, and they pestered my dad all the time about helping them move and trying to find out about things.  They have not said a word to me or my kids.    Another aunt and uncle have not asked how me and my kids are doing for about three years.  I went through a divorce almost a year ago, and NO ONE on my side asked how I am doing.  Now, I dont mind as much as far as asking me but at least ask about my kids.  My brother has been kind of supportive but his wife has said nothing to me.  She is a snob anyway.  MY cousins are not close to me, and they never call.  I have to call all the time and set up the get togethers.  I tried to see my aunt and uncle last weekend but they were busy and seemed they didnt care.  I am concerned because if something were to happen to me, I know no one would care for my kids.  My parents would but they are getting old.  Also, my family, and my parents had to ask if we can drive to Memphis to see my brother's family for Thanksgiving or Xmas.  It would be easier for them to drive down here because there are empty rooms for them to stay.  And, now I have to spend money to get things done to my van, and my parents may have to pay for a hotel.  Oh, and me and my parents have driven to see them plenty of times!

I hear ya on this one!!!  It must be a family thing... and I think every family has them!  Lord knows my family does....  You just smile politly and go on with your day... kinda makes a person feel like shit though...like your not good enough to even speak to...a waste of their time....  or there are the ones that are nice to your face and stab you in the back the first chance they get.....   Family can suck... and unfortunatlly you don't get to choose!  You have to deal with what you get....  thus the old saying, You can pick your friends... Not your family.....

Keep your chin up girl... your not alone....

Yea we found some long lost relatives during the summer and they went to upstate New York for vacation and you would think they could drive down and see us cause we live in New York, its like an hour drive, but of course not. And my parents are the eldest in the family right now. Oh well. To hell with them. Family is awesome! NOT!!!!!
