My dear friend is having her first baby in January. We've been looking at car seats and things that go with car seats. My friend is wanting to get the Graco Snug ride. From what I've researched on the snug ride, it seems pretty good. Is it a good car seat?
Here are somethings I need some answers to. I'm not very car seat smart. I know how to strap a child in and where to put the chest clip. I know you aren't suppose to strap a child in with a jacket on. And I know the car seat straps go below the child's shoulders while RF and above the shoulders while FF. I also no RF for as long as you can is best. But I'm not sure about these things. I've added some pics of things I would like to buy my friend but I want to make sure these things are safe to use in a car seat before I buy them.

Is it alright to use a car seat cover? This one doesn't interfer with the straps in the car seat.

Is it alright to use this car seat snuggie? It's made of fleece and has opening for the straps. I no snow suits are not to be used in a car seat and we need something to keep the baby warm since January is below 0 here.

This is a full body support for the new born. I'm not sure if this is safe to use. I've heard don't use after market products. If after market products are bad to use, can you use a rolled up blanket on the side of a new born? Or should we only use what comes with the car seat?
Since my friend is having her baby in January and it's freezing here during January. What is the best way to keep the baby warm? Can you use a fleece snow suit? Can you layer the baby's clothes? We have been watching crash videos and trying to educated ourselves as much as we can. So any info would be great!
Thank you!
Comments:
No aftermarket products. They are unsafe and untested with your seat.
The first picture you show is the ONLY thing I would recommend. Those are wonderful, and completely safe to use. You don't need anything on either side of the newborn. You can use a rolled recieving blanket on either side of the baby's head if a head support does not come with the seat.
Honestly, I'd just put a thick fleece blanket over the baby in the car, and pull it to cover the whole face of the seat (hang it over the canopy) to block the cold winds in between the house and the car.
