I am ashamed of all the times when I have gone through difficult times and whined about it. I am ashamed of the times that I have just gone through the motions of worshipping God. I am ashamed of how easy and free it is for me to attend church and worship. I am convicted of the need to be telling others about Jesus and what He has done for us.

Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. I thank all of those who have given their lives rather than deny Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. I do not know if I could die for Him, but I want to be there at that point where I know without a doubt that I could and would.

There are Christians all over the world who are daily tortured and killed for their refusal to deny Christ and turn back to the national religion of their respective countries. How dare we as Christians in America just go through the motions! Thousands, if not millions, have already given their lives and doubtless thousands more will in the future and we cannot make ourselves attend church-we say we are too tired, etc. How pathetic we are.

Do we not know that soon it may the Christian church in America that becomes persecuted? If we cannot worship and serve Him now, when it is so easy; how do we expect to be able to then?

We were shown a video put out by the Voice of Martyrs that I hope will haunt me for the rest of my days. Why do I want that? so that I will not forget to pray for those who are being persecuted on a daily basis.

Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, but let us not forget them tomorrow!!!

I'm glad yesterday's service touched your heart...it put some things into perspective for me too.
