Choosing the right Home Business

I have had some kind of home business for over 21 years...  many times it was just to get the product at a discount.  Other times I really worked it to bring extra money in the house.

Over these years I have learned a LOT about what to look for in a home business.  Over the next few weeks I will be putting this down and hopefully help someone find their home business.  I am not saying I know all..I am saying I have learned a lot, both good and bad.  Sometimes I didnt make the right choice because I was following money and not my heart.  

I would say the first step is to figure out what you love and figure out how to make money with that.  If you love making crafts or if you love cooking..or maybe you are a health nut..its always best to love what you are doing cause it WILL be hard work and it WILL be a lot of hours.  Dont let someone kid you and say oh join me and you will make thousands your first week.  It aint gonna happen!  When you do decide what type of business you most likely will have a ton to choose from.  I will give you pointers on what to look for in a company as well.

After you figure that out then look at HOW you want to work the business.  You can go with online, business to business, home shows or trade/craft shows.  If you have restrictions like no vehicle you wouldnt choose a business where you did home shows.  If you dont have a computer at home you dont want an online business.  Some people just do not like doing home shows... others thrive on them.  The time you have to work on your business may be in the middle of the night so an online business probably would work better for you.

You need to have a monthy budget in mind as well.  There will be expenses no matter what path you take.  So go ahead and figure out how much you have to put in a business.  This should include website costs, product, catalogs, samples, what ever you need  to build a business.
