Maybe my brain is wired differently than everyone else's but as I study the Bible and attend church I get something COMPLETELY different than most of these "Christians" that attack blogs.
The reason I do not judge others for who they are or what they believe is simple. In no part of the Bible did I read Jesus yelling "You are going to hell you filthy sinner! And you are dragging your damn kids with you!" No, he was classier than that. He told us to love one another and to use compassion. And just because I have the magical name of "Christian" does not make me better than everyone else. I have just as much temptation to sin. Christian is just a title not a magical amulet to keep me pure and holy.
I also learned from the Bible and from Celebrate Recovery that as humans we are corrupt and we sin. So why should I judge someone else's sin? Why should I yell at them about sinning when it is like hitting a child and telling them not to hit? It just doesn't make sense to me. It is called spreading the good news for a reason. Like when you tell someone you are pregnant. You are spreading the good news. You don't just scream "I am pregnant and you are not because my husband loves me so much more than your hubby (or SO)!" While making the other person cry. For one you just lost a friend and two no one will respect you.
No, when you are telling people you are pregnant you are giving hugs and spreading the word on how happy it makes you. Then other women suddenly want to be in your shoes and feel that happiness as well. And that is what Christians should do. Not beat someone down with the Bible and claim "I am SNATCHING them from the fire". Hunny you need to worry about your own butt being snatched from the fire. Because if that attitude is a norm for you then I hate to see how you live the rest of your life. It just doesn't seem Christianly to me or make sense. It strikes me that these people are the ones sitting in the back of the church making fun of everyone else who is standing with their hands held high and singing off key. God doesn't care how we sing... just as long as we sing.
Besides all we have to go on that our faith is the right one is our trust and faith in God. And that is what everyone else in their religion or lack there of have. And the only way to truly know that we were right and they were wrong is to die and go to heaven. But so far no one has come back to tell us the results. You can't win Gods love by being a jerk. Also you won't get an extra special ticket on how many people you converted to the church. Although I can imagine God pulling out the surveillance camera and replaying your actions just to show you how dumb you look. Because you can scare people all you want but their hearts will not be in the Church or with God. But if you show them how much your love your Church and how much God has been a huge part of your life people will want to feel that too.
Comments:
The Christianity of St John is not wholly identical with the Christianity of St Peter; and that of St Francis of Assisi is not that of Paul the Apostle. The same applies to different lands and peoples. The fullness of the Truth is something absolute, and therefore incompatible with the world; the world and man are essentially limited, and therefore accept the truth of Christianity in a limited way. And because each people and each individual man is limited in a particular way, each comes to have a distinctive conception of Christianity; yet fundamentally the Christianity of all alike remains the same. The gifts of the Spirit also vary both among individual men and among peoples.

I also recommend to those with the holier than thou attitude to read the "Celebrate Recovery" Bible. The book is amazing.
