As my friends here know, we lost two of our 3 doxies last year - six months apart. Both were 15 years old. The 3rd of our "original" first doxies was nearing 15, Jojo, and we knew it was just a matter of time. She had been desperately depressed/lonely since losing her buddies of 15 years last year, and I started feeling like I wanted to rescue another doxie...so I started my search on rescue sites. After much looking, I found two here in Elizabethton - from the original owner we got our first doxies from! They are Buster and Naynay (Naomi is official name). Buster is the pic of the longhair chocolate; Naynay is the longhair chocolate dapple. Buster is 3 and Naynay is 5. They are such wonderful dogs! Both have personalities that needed "special care" to get them around to being social pups - and they've come a long way since spring! We love them dearly and they are enjoying wonderful lives with us. Jojo enjoyed having more doxies around her in her last year and we truly believe that she lived longer because of her new buddies.
When Jojo had to be put to sleep a couple weeks ago, the grief was easier to bear because we had these two wonderful dogs to love on. Enjoy the pics!
