The Slumbering Soul

I'm sleeping. I'm dormant. This soul within.

I'm steadfast, eternal but soon the show will begin.

A mountain is covered with lily of the valley.

Que the rumbling in the pit of the belly.

The trees quiver and the leaves begin to fall.

The birds quit singing, the world starts to stall.

The rivers flow backwards the lakes begin to boil,

Let me make my introduction as destruction and turmoil.

You've seen my glorious heights and decietful presentation.

As a peaceful landscape left to interpretation.

As the lava rises and smoke cascades.

Welcome to my explosion. You may begin the parades.

As heat rises and the skies pull back,

the explosion of ash turn their blue hue black.

You feel it before you see it and the sound echos after.

Go hide in your church seek shelter from your pastor.

No God nor Goddess nor priest can detest.

When I am in my true form I'm awful but I'm best.

Go ahead and try to contain me. You will only get burned.

And you will never again have the life you once yearned.

The Magma begins to bubble reaching it's peak.

Slowly it dribbles from the mouth to speak.

"Seek your shelter, your comfort, your sancutary.

Your search is in vain your feet and mind will surely grow weary.

When you are tired of stumbling alone in the dark,

Return to me and retrieve what is left of your heart."

And so the lava flows down the curves of the mountain.

Burning so brightly as a liquid light fountain.

The birds fly away their songs transform to screams.

The trees begin to ember, their former glory but dreams.

The deer bound away with wide eyed fright.

And yet the fire burns long into the night.
