I feel sad that after 15 months of nursing I weaned my son. It was a tough decision to make. My family thought I should have stop at 6 months then at 12 months. I am the only one in my family that nursed longer than 6 months. Plus one of a handful who breastfeed. I was surprised to find out that my Grandmother didn't. I thought it was common "back in the day" but I was proven wrong.
He didn't want to stop but he was starting to use them as a snack bar. He wasn't falling to sleep that way anymore and I had to do something for him to learn to sleep on his own. I need to teach him a bed time routine. He saw my breast today when I got out of the shower and he wanted them. My boy is a boobie man! I wonder if he's going to like them when he's older. ; ).
I guess he had to stop at some point. I pump every other day to relieve the soreness into a cup and then add cow's milk. They will dry up on there own. Then that's it until the next baby.
How did other mom's feel when they stopped nursing?

To me since all mine weaned themselves from me and life was so busy with four children I didn't really notice.
I do know though that if you buy a cabbage and put the leaves of the cabbage in your bra that it will dry up your milk faster and relieve engorgement. Don't pump, that produces more milk.
