Hello,
I am looking for help, advice, and maybe a friendly word or two today. I am feeling so frustrated, upset and sad I just don't know what to do any help or advice would be wonderful. On September 26, 2009 the house I was living in burned to the ground. Everyone got out okay, but we lost everything. Due to the kindness of many, most of our physical needs have already been met, we have been given food, clothing, and many of the items we have lost. I am the mother of two children and the wife of a loving man. We are still in need of one major thing. A home.
Currently me and my 7 month old are with my Grandma, she recently had surgery so I am staying with her to help her out. My Husband is living with his folks, I am too when I am not with my grandmother. My 10 year old daughter is currently living with her principal. We gave her several options shortly after the fire and at the time she chose to stay with her principal so that she could be in a stable envirnment and continue going to school where she had been going. However a month has gone by and I still have not found somewhere to live, where we can all be together. I miss my family and want to be able to be with them.
My daughter is no longer happy with the arrangment but I don't know how else to do things right now, she misses us. We have her stay with us on the weekends but she is gone 5 days a week and it is so hard. I tried to call her tonight and couldn't talk to her because she had already gone to bed. I am worried about her and need to get something happening soon. However nothing has worked out yet.
Please, as a mother to other mothers, I am pleading for help here. If you have any way to help me find a place it would be great. I am looking for anything that will work. House, apartment, trailer, just whatever. I have been trying to get into an apartment but have not been able to due to the fact that I have an outstanding power bill. My previous roommate talked me into turning the power on in my name and then didn't help with the bill as much as promised. I am trying to find a way to pay it off but haven't been able to.
I am currently living on a very limited income and could barely make ends meet before all this happened. I am hoping that someone out there may know about someplace that I could get into. If you do, please, please tell me. I have been combing the papers and everything, but with my income I am unable to pay most of the rent prices out there, and a down payment would be nearly impossible for me right now, unless a church or something could help.
If you have any ideas or supportive words, please let me know, I am close to a break down and don't know what to do. Thank you for listening.
