So we recently found out that my 21 month old is allergic to cinnamon. Even walking by the scent pinecones at walmart makes his face turn red and hard for him to breath. so with the holiday coming i'm finding it really had to deal with the allergy. i know things will get easier has we get used to it. but before our holiday moring treat would been cinnamon rolls. now we can't do that. so i'm trying to come up with some. We are thinking of getting belgin waffle iron and start making strawberry waffles for the holidays. with thanks giving two weeks away i figure it out quick.
i have to go through all my christmas stuff and pull out all the candles that have cinnamon in it. There is so much food that cinnamon in it. pumpkin pie and apple pie which have always been two huge favorites in this house. i'm going to have my husband go shoping or somethign with caleb when i need to make the apple pies for my dad. i'm scared of the scent with him too. or keep the windows open i'm not sure yet.
I went to walmart almost got or traditonal ginger bread houses that are in the kits well those have cinnamon. so we can't do that. We deside to make our own out of regular gram crackers and frosting. luckly we dont' eat alot of ceral or instant oatmeal because alot of that is high in cinnamon. but i do have to change my french toast recipe.
This is just a frustration vent jornual. We are learning to deal with it. but its really hard. Even at scouts the other night a friend brought a snack for the kids and i look they were cinnamon teddy grams. ugh. luckly i had peanut butter crackers with me. i'm just amazed at how much we actually eat cinnamon.
