My parents married young, had my brother at 17. me at 21 and my baby brother at 25...of course divorcing 1 year after the youngest was born...My whole life I have been the forgotten child...you would think being the only girl would have gotten me some attention...but NOPE! Even to this day I have become more like the black sheep...my mom sees my brother for all holidays and his step childrens birthdays, me and my children MAY see her twice a year (we are only 2.5 hours away LOL) NEITHER parents remembered my birthday this year...HELLO 27 years and you STILL cant remember which day it is?!?! It doesnt bother me much anymore...I try to give both of my children the same amount of attention so they will never feel like the "forgotten" child

I feel ya! I am a middle child out of 4...my brother the oldest and his kids get pampered, along with my sister and her daughter...my other sis and her son and me and mine get left out all of the time. I have 5 kids and try my hardest to treat them all equally...sometimes its hard, cuz all of them are different and demand attention in different ways. My DH is the 2nd kid out of 4 in his family and its the same way! We have made a decision that when our kids are grown and have their own children...that we will NOT have favorites! And that goes for our own kids too...it really is kind of sickening how parents do this! BUT... I do feel it has made me a better parent...soooo, I GUESS it was for the best :o)
