So i went in for my regular prenatal check up today and i got my blood work back and everything was perfectly fine with that and then they said my papsmear did show HPV cervical cancer and now i have to go get a colposcopy done dec.17th to see if their is cancer growing on my cervix! I don't know how in the world i got HPV! I had the gardisil shot over 2 years ago and i've been marrie for 2 years! S none of this makes sense. They did say that i could have had this for years and it's just now showing up. But I'm really worried because i am 11 weeks pregnant and i refuse to have an abortion NO MATTER WHAT!

When I had my clopo they were just going to test the abnormal cells and they must have taken all I had because that was 11 years ago and I have not had another issue with it, so...you never know!

also I am glad to see that you are 16 weeks because when I was 17 wks with my now 1 year old, I had to have my appendix out.  the Dr. who specializes in fertility told me that is the perfect time to have a procedure done because the baby is big enough to be "formed" but not so big to have to worry about preterm delivery. I hope that's the case with you as well.

best of luck!

Just after we found out that we were pregnant last year, my pap came back HPV positive.  They say that you can have it for years and because the paps smear is not done in the exact same area each time, that it may not be caught.  But, this is just what my doc had told me.  Our little guy came out without a single complication.  born healthy at 8 lbs 11oz and 21 inches long.  Since then, my new doc has done a second pap and found nothing.  I hope that everything works out and hope that you get the advice and responses you are looking for!
