All the pictures of me and my siblings growing up and my mom. My school yearbooks. Some Halloween outfits my mom made for me. She was really great at sewing. I have lost so many things that I miss. My mom died several years back. All the pictures of my dd growing up until age 4. My mother's rings that she left me. Mostly it's just the sentimental things.
My apartment burnt down when I was in labor with my son. Talk about timing. It was a total loss. They wouldn't let ppl go in to get their things. Well I snuck in a couple of months later and everything was destroyed and looted. There wasn't much I could salvage.
One thing I got out with though was a blanket my mom crocheted when I was little it had my name and birth date on it. That one item probably means the most to me of anything I own. Having lost everything I don't miss my old couch or tv or any other material items. I don't even think about those things. It's the things that bring to mind special times and people that are gone that you really miss.
