Ok, i don't know how soon, but he will be coming home! My husband is a British Immigrant who came to the USA on a work visa to work for a military contracting company. He was here for a few years, then he and i met. We got pregnant, and things started going downhill for him. Right before i was due, he got laid off. So off he goes to Alaska right after the baby is born, because he was offered another contract. I have a one month old baby, and my SO is gone. It was hard. He comes home at the end of the contract, when DD is 6 months old. He's able to get his old job back! Yay! But, he takes a drastic pay cut. Going from $1000 a week to $700 a month. I get a job to help out. I'm done BFing, so it's workable. I work off of Richy's shift and my BFF that i met through him takes care of DD for us when our schedules overlap. (She's my angel). We finally realize that my job pays for nothing more than putting gas in my truck to get to and from work. I begged my boss to give me longer shifts so i could drive less and work more. No luck. Hubby is getting pissed off that we can't even afford to pay our bills, so he applies for a job in kuwait. And he gets it. Yay! he comes home from that 4 months later and gets a job in Iraq. Off he goes again. Only now, he loses his visa due to the fact he no longer works for the company that issued it. Even though he was the one who paid for the visa. Sigh......So hubby has been in Iraq for 2 years this coming April. he hates it. I hate it. We've been saving up to get his greencard. We have the money, we got married in April on the lawyer's advice. So i get to go to the lawyer next week and start our paperwork. As soon as we get his work permit(takes 45-90 days from date of filing to receive), I'm telling hubby to come home! He will come home, we'll pray he can find a job. He's a mechanic, so i think it won't be too hard. I hope not. He came home on vacation in August, and we got pregnant again. I've been advised to take it easy due to problems with my first pregnancy. So no job for me :(

But hubby will home soon! So excited! My family is so excited, and my Uncle plans on kidnapping him one fall to take him hunting in tennessee. Uncle always teases me about finding a limey brit to knock me up instead of some nice southern boy, but he really loves my hubby, and admires him for the great sacrifice he's made to support us.

Cross your fingers everything goes ok with immigration!

Hey, you should check out visajourney.com...That is what helped us with my husband's immigration process. (We didn't use a lawyer, but our case was pretty straightforward.) We have a case pending for my husband's 10 year green card....Anyway, you can ask a lot of questions and get a lot of answers from that sight. I've been using it for 3 years now.
