16 or so years ago I was single and my house was robbed and they took jewelry,there was a ring and necklace set that I got for my graduation,but more importantly there was my grandfathers Navy ring,He wore in WWII,I would do anything to have it to pass to my son his namesake.

I know you could never replace the ACTUAL items, but is there a chance you could find something similar on EBay that would atleast be a stand in... I don't know if that would make it better or worse actually but just thought I would throw it out there. It's a very personal decision and only one you can make but whatever brings you peace is the right thing for you. Best wishes!

I have never seen anything like it,it was white gold,USN initials over mother of pearl,square shaped. Thanks for the advise.
