I have a friend who owns an indoor playground for kids. She is upset by the significantly lower number of visitors she has had this year. She thinks she is advertising in the wrong places, I think business is slow because its flu season.
My family had the H1N1 infection in the spring, so obviously I am not too worried about that, but I am concerned about other flus and colds etc., so I do try to avoid places where my kids tend to get sick.
We have been to an indoor play area only once this year.
I even have a hard time ordering out these days, seems I always notice something that disgusts me, like coughing, a server wiping their nose with their hand, etc, before we order.
Are you avoiding public areas like playplaces or restaurants for fear of getting ill?

I'm not avioiding these places so much, but I am a hand-washing freak and constantly putting that alcohol stuff on my kids' hands to keep them as clean as possible. I would say her business is probably down as a result of a combination of the flu season and the bad economy. Nobody has money and noone wants to get sick so everyone stays home.
