Last week I got some really sad news. One of my co-workers Juanita Warman won't be coming back after her tour of duty. She was truly a great woman who cared for our countries service men and women. Juanita was warm and funny. She worked here in the Veterans Hospital and she touch so many lives.
When I found out, I opened my outlook file where i have her emails. They aren't anything special, just office stuff. At the end of the last few, we chatted a little. I told her I'd miss her around the halls and looked forward to her getting back. She told me that she enjoyed going out in the field to be with the soldiers where they needed her. She loved adventure.
Next thursday we are all going to her memorial service at work. I didn't know her all that well but I wish I had. I don't really care why the gun man at Fort Hood did what he did. He's not crazy, he knew what he was doing. If he didn't personally know Juanita than he knew others like her. The people who work in Mental Health are a speal kind of person. At least usually they are. I can say that I know a few psychologists and psychciatrist who are butt holes. They like the gun man are exceptions to the rule.
Please take a moment a pray for the troops that she would have helped. I have faith in God and that he has a plan. I won't waste a moment of it in anger at that misguided gunman and I don't want anyone else to either. I felt a need to write this post in honor of Juanita. I know she is up there is heaven having another adventure.
