A lot of women complain... I am one of them... I complain a LOT.  I am usually bitching about my job (sometimes, its downright awful... its SOOOO boring!)  but, I decided today that it DOES have its moments... and at times, I love my job.

I work front desk at the local Comfort Suites.  We've only been open 2 months, but we've had a lot going on.

I love *most* of the guests.  Especially Mr. Reaber (who stayed with us for 6 weeks while he finished building his house).  I will also dearly miss the Lain family, who came to us when their house burned down and gave us the pleasure of their company for over a month.  There is also Mr. Brown and Mr. Wood who come in for a few days every other week on business... and then the random guests who are only here for a night but leave the biggest impression.

I love parties.  Birthday, wedding, it doesnt matter. Ya know why?  Food.  Free Food.  I remember one time there was a wedding (sweetest girl I've met so far!) and two birthday parties going on the same day... I was SWIMMING in offers of free pizza, birthday cake, wedding cake, reception food, ice cream... Oh, darn this diet!  Today, a *Latino* couple are getting married.. and their caterer just made me a plate and insisted that I eat because I need REAL food (cause apparently my Lean Cuisine wasnt cutting it).  Hmm... so I'm snacking on chocolate covered strawberries, stuffed olives, cheese and something on a cracker.  Ohh, I'm in heaven!!!

Another thing I love about my job is that most of the time... there's nothing to do.  I check my e-mail, surf the net... BTW, I'm at work right now... Haha!  I want more cheese.. Hmmm...

I worked at a hotel for 9 months and LOVED it.  I left after I found out the boss had refused me my pay raises twice (for exemplary service, pay raises required by his own "corporate" rules), and then decided to fire all the female desk clerks because he didn't like females "out front" for his hotel (he was Muslim) and got around the state laws requiring he have a certain percentage  of his staff female by keeping a full cleaning crew.

Other than for him, the job rocked!!

I too work front desk at a motel and I like it as well.  Like you, I don't have much to do since I work a morning shift but I do get to visit with lots of people while they have coffee.  After the coffee rush is over, I get to watch tv.  Man, working is rough!
