I'm not scared because I have to take care of Faolan. Its exploratory, and I don't know what to do. I don't get why I'm so scared... People say I'll be fine, and yes that may be true but while healing what about my baby boy? He needs me, and I need his smile but I may not be able to bend to pick him up. Ladies, I'm so scared. Anyone else who has had surgery with young babies, my son is only three months. I had surgery when I was five but I so much braver then, now I cried when the doctor said it could be from removing my cysts to taking out my appendicts, or taking out one ovary, or just untwisting an ovary...

How in the world does an ovary twist? GAH! I'm so scared, I cried leaving the office. I don't want my mom to do all the work till I'm healed enough. Any advice?

I didn't have surgery, but after delivery was unable to walk unassisted (yeah, me with a walker!!). I couldn't carry my son for a diaper change, anything. It was really difficult, but I had no choice, and was lucky to have great family lift him for me. He and I lived in the rocking chair - slept there together, rocked together... For a good while (few weeks at least!). Most of the time, I still walked to the changing table and changed him, and since we nursed only I could feed him. It wasn't as hard at the time, but I remember being upset because I couldn't care for my baby alone. Once I was up to it, I think it made me want even more to do it myself, and I've refused lots of help. Maybe I would've been this way anyhow, but who knows! I do know that you'll be just fine, and your baby won't remember that Grandma changed his diaper a few weeks... Just get lots of snuggles in if you're up to it - you'll both feel better about it!!!

Yes, I had a total hysterectomy with a 4 month old and a 4 yr old. I also had my c section incision split open when my youngest was 8 days old and the dr could not sew it back up.

You are scared because you are a mom and another life is more important tham yours....that is how we are.

I have had the same type of surgery twice. Get some food prepared so you don't have to cook. Ask a friend or relative to give you a rest break for a few hours for a couple of days and you will be fine. by the way...I have had 16 surgeries.

my DD was 1 yes her first birthday is when I came home..

I had my ovary removed

But he said nothing over 20 pounds I think,  You feel kinda stiff in the middle like a bad case of stomach flu can do. I told my DD that I had a boo boo and let her see it and that I couldn't pick her up that I had to sit down for her and she could  be in my lap......... being seeing how your LO is only 3 months old I think the weigh limit might be him...... But I would call and ask the doctor......
