Today was a mixed day

Vicki brought Chris over as usual about 5:30.  I changed him, played a short time & gave him his bottle which knocked both of us out.  I didn't even know when my dh come home from his bus run.  We woke up when Vicki came to get him.  That was an easy morning.  Then my son calls me to tell me that he & his girlfriend aren't going to be able to work things out.  He said he told her he would continue buying the diapers, wipes & whatever he needs.  I asked him if it was going to be friendly break up & he said yes.  They will remain friends for Elias.  Then Brandi picked her up so they could visit their friend that is dying of cancer.  After that they came over & spent the afternoon here.  She told me the same thing that Nick told me.  She also told me that he is thinking about moving back to Kansas City to  live with his dad.  His dad & stepmom just seperated.ll  She was having an affair but they were going to try to work things out.  Well, I guess that didn't work, she got mad & pulled a knife on him.  I know my son is worried about his dad but that didn't work the last time & I don't see it working this time.  Just the other day we were talking about Travis not being able to find a job & Nick said that it is easier to get a job here then up there.  He has a good job here.  The hours aren't the greatest but if he stays there he could work his way into better hours.  He would have to leave his baby & not be able to see him very often, I don't think he would be able to take that.  Living with his dad means living by his dad's rules.  Nick can handle that.  He is grown & should be able to come & go as he pleases.  He told me last night that if he can't make it alone in Cape he would be moving back with us for awhile.  I'm a mother hen so I love having my kids close.  Somehow it makes me feel like they are safer.   But he is grown so he will make his own decisions no matter what I think or say.  She moved in with her dad & stepmom.  She will start looking for a place on her own their the state.  She was looking for a job today.  She is a worker so she will feel better once she finds a job.  I had Elias to play with all afternoon & I put him to sleep.  He is a quite baby & loves his pacifier when he is going to sleep.  I had both Elias & Rose for a short time & boy was she jealous.  She don't like if when other babies sit in my lap.  She had to sit in my lap with him, but she was up & down.  His mommy said he was afraid of Santa so she put him in my dh's lap for awhile & he was fine.  I thought it was his beard that scared him but maybe it's his red suit.  It's about time my dh to get his Santa suit out.  This year I'm going to fix a place in the house to take pictures of the kids with Santa.  I have a lot of Christmas decorations & stuff that I could use.  I'll let you see a photo when it's done.  We were hoping to buy a  Mrs. Claus outfit for me but haven't found one that I reallly like yet.  I may have to just make one myself. 

Back to today.  I spent time with 3 of my grandkids & talked to another one on the phone.  They are all cute & adorable,   They all are wondeful children.  I am so pround of all of them.  They parents are doing a fine job.   If I a one wish it would be that I could have a family gathering with all my kids, grandkids, stepparents, adopted parents.  Just one time in my life I would like my whole family together, having fun, taking pictures & doing family pictures.   It's sad that I won't get even half of my wish.
