Yay! I am going to get another tattoo on this coming Monday night. I am really excited. This one is very special too. My mom has "Dayenu" on her wrist in Hebrew. I told her that when she dies I would get it, and she got so excited that she said she wanted me to get it now, before she dies, so she knows I have it. LOL. So I am going to go get it on my wrist too.

If you are not Jewish you probably don't know what dayenu means. In the Jewish Passover Seder there is a part where they recite a song of rejoicing. Part of that song is repeating the word dayenu which literally translated means "it would have been enough"

Here is the song:

If God had brought us out from Egypt

And not visited them with judgment
It would have been enough. (Dayenu)

If God had visited them with judgment

And not cast down their idols
(Dayenu)

If God had destroyed their idols

And not slain their firstborn
(Dayenu)

If God had only slain their firstborn

And not given us their substance
(Dayenu)

If God had just given us their substance

And not parted the Red Sea for us
(Dayenu)

If God had parted the Red Sea for us

And not let us walk upon the dry sea bed
(Dayenu)

If God had led us across the dry sea bed

And not drowned our pursuers in its waters
(Dayenu)

If God had drowned our pursuers in its waters

And not kept us forty years in the wilderness
(Dayenu)

If God had only kept us forty years in the wilderness

And not fed us with manna
(Dayenu)

If God had just fed us with manna

And not given us the Sabbath rest
(Dayenu)

If God had given us the Sabbath rest

And not led us to the foot of Sinai
(Dayenu)

If God had brought us to the foot of Sinai

And not taught us the Torah
(Dayenu)

If God had taught us the Torah

And not brought us into Israel
(Dayenu)

If God had brought us into Israel

And not built the Temple there
It would have been enough. (Dayenu)

The point of it, is that God has done for us so much--much more than just enough. I am beyond thankful for all He has done for me. It will look something like this, but not in computer font : )

hey! so i found this when i was researching this problem. i'm wanting to get "dayenu" tattooed on my wrist this weekend as well! i'm trying to work out a printed document to take to the tattoo artist so that he can just make that inked copy of it and work from there. the problem is that every time i copy/paste the words into photoshop or word, it shows up all backwards and mixed up. did you try to do that and do you have any solutions?
