Three children and a lady were taken to the hospital this morning because some bitch was talking on her cell phone and not pay attention to the road and the crossing guard.
The cell phone user was in her upper 30's to lower 40's, I would guess. I watch her doing about I would guess- 30 to 40 mph through the crossing guard stop sign and hit another car a mom and 3 kids. The passenger side of the victims car was crushed. The two children on that side were injured the worst. The other not as bad.
I was the first to call 911.
I asked the car with the kids if anyone was seriously injured. They had mostly bloody noses and small cuts above the eye. The child in the passenger front definitely had a broken arm. (lucky thats all he had.) the paramedics got there and took everyone to the hospital. By the way they had seatbelts on.
As for the offender. She was issued a 2 tickets. One for reckless driving, and one for speeding on top of they arrested her for having drugs in the car.
The lesson for today : DO NOT TALK ON YOUR CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING.

I am willing to bet that the drugs had more to do with it then the cell phone...
I hate when people talk on the phone and text while driving. They really are stupid and putting lives in danger. Well, being a druggie doesn't help either. What a hag.

I totally agree. Although I do not condone driving and texting or talking on the cell phone. I believe that the drugs played a huge roll in this one as well
I despise it when people talk on their cell phone. My son & I were almost tbone cause of some idiot on her cell phone who thought it was ok to go through a red light. I slammed on my brakea, honked, she looked up from her phone all confused and then fliipped me off. Classy lady
I'm pretty good at pulling over if my Phone goes to ringing, If I'm where I can't pull over then that caller can wait until I get to a safe spot. !!!
Thankfully nobody was injured worse than that. If I had a dollar for every time I have almost been hit or seen someone else get hit by some idiot on a cell phone, I would be set financially for life. To the people who are saying it wasn't the cell phone but the drugs, how do you KNOW for sure? Just because she had them in her vehicle, which was pretty dumb in itself, does not mean she was under the influence of them at that time.
Not trying to start anything but Lady Saphire has a good point. Okay she had drugs in the car but was she on them? Did you see any evidence of her being on drugs? Now with that said, thank God noone died. I know what it is like to be hit by someone on their cell phone. Back in 2004 I was on my way to work when a kid and his friend were doggin cell phones. The kid hit me at 40mph , no brakes. Make a long story short, please do whatever it takes to keep a cell phone out of your hands when driving.

Vehicle safety experts say that driving while talking on a cell phone is similar to driving with a .08 blood alcohol level. Driving while texting - I don't remember the numbers they give but most people would be falling down drunk if it was alcohol, not texting. Put the tech away when you turn over your engine!
